Universal Selection

Iteration

The American social scientist Donald T. Campbell showed that when the Darwinian process of reproduction is reduced to iteration, or repetitive cyclical activity, such mechanisms explain far more than just the origin of species. Reductionism being the real goal in science, iteration is of course a much more generalized process and includes reproduction within its confines. After all, reproduction is a form of iteration. So with this one minor correction, the Darwinian mechanisms of iteration, variation and selection are together able to explain the origin of all natural phenomena both biological and nonbiological.
